Charitable Foundation Grant Process - Berkeley Hall

Berkeley Hall Charitable Foundation Grant Process

Grant Process

The money which is raised from member donations, Charity Cup events, and other BHCF fundraising is awarded to local nonprofit organizations through a rigorous grant application and evaluation process. The grant cycle begins in late summer when the grant application is made available on the Community Foundation of the Lowcountry (CFL) grant portal.

Once applications are received, the BHCF Grants Committee reviews and evaluates all grant applications and makes recommendations to the BHCF Board of Trustees and Board of Directors for grant approval. Approved grants are paid at the end of the year. Additionally, the Grants Committee regularly monitors the grant recipients to ensure that the grant money is properly used.
